Q: What is Exam Block?
A: Exam Block is a tool for verified educators to prevent certain questions from being submitted by users to Course Hero’s online tutor service during a selected time frame. Educators can include up to 50 questions per submission and block them for up to 7 days at a time.
Q: Will similar questions be blocked?
A: No. Only questions that exactly match the submitted question will be blocked.
Q: Who can use Exam Block?
A: Only verified educators on Course Hero can use Exam Block. Click here for more information about how to become a verified educator.
Q: Is there a maximum amount of time that a question will be blocked?
A: Yes. Questions can be blocked for up to 7 days, starting the day after the question is submitted using the Exam Block tool. For example, if an educator submits a question to Exam Block on 01/01/2024, they can block the question starting from 01/02/2024 until 01/09/2024 at the latest.
If a user submits a blocked question outside of the time frame selected in the tool, it will not be blocked, and they may receive an answer through Course Hero’s online tutor service.
Q: Can Course Hero users ask blocked questions elsewhere on the platform?
A: Yes. Exam Block only prevents users from submitting exactly matching questions to Course Hero’s online tutor service. The tool does not block answers to non-matching questions, nor to questions submitted elsewhere on the platform, including search or AI-powered tools.
